From the Philippines to La Dorada
Moving to Spain was a dream, but the first months were hard: apartment hunting in a language I was still learning, waiting for appointments, and guessing which documents I needed. Ang daming tanong, walang malinaw na sagot.
Step by step, we got through it. We found our home in Salamanca and got our residence cards. When I started sharing our life here online, kababayan began messaging me with the same questions I once had.
That's why I'm doing this: para hindi mo na maranasan ang mga struggles na pinagdaanan ko. I want you to arrive prepared, find a good home, and enjoy Spain from day one.
Why Salamanca?
Salamanca is called La Dorada, the golden city. It's calm, safe, beautiful, and cheaper than Madrid or Barcelona. I live here, so I know the neighborhoods, the landlords, and the everyday tips you won't find online.
